Our Inspiration
We derive our inspiration from the spirit that is imbued in the hearts and minds of the people that make up our home, Committed Artists. A spirit that springs from the fountains at which the great heroes and heroines must have stopped to gaze at the beauty that is life. From whence, after a refreshing drink from the springs of living water, they moved to leave indelible footprints through the sands of our time.
A spirit embodied at the core of being in the lives of the likes of King Shaka, Dinuzulu, Cetshwayo, the uNomkhubulwana – The Rain Queen, Moshoeshoe, Sekhukhune, Mzilikazi, Dingane, Rarabe, Nandi and Langalibalele.
A spirit that seeks to be nothing but the best. That at all times seeks to place its best foot forward. A spirit committed to the joy of life. A spirit to be imbibed from the chalice that is Committed Artists, a volcano of creativity spewing rivers of intensity. This is the raison d’être for the group Committed Artists, committed to life itself.
Our Home
The Committed Artists group of companies was founded on the success of Mr Mbongeni Ngema through his internationally acclaimed classical drama Woza Albert, who like an erupting volcano bore equally acclaimed productions such as Asinamali, Sarafina, Township Fever, and The Zulu, with the express intent of bringing nothing but the best productions reflecting our heritage, present and future like only Committed Artists could.
Although traditionally viewed as being in the entertainment sector (stage productions, television and film productions, as well as music productions) of economic activity, Committed Artists is way more than that. Always putting South Africa on the frontlines of its being, be it in the struggle to eradicate apartheid by isolating the then order, or calling for the support of the new order, Committed Artists is committed to the social and economic development of the society from which it is borne, ever aware of its heritage and paths yet to be travelled.
